Integrated sandwich technology
Based on a current patent application this construction allows the integration of sandwich panels in an integral aluminium construction.
The entire structure is welded, no rivets, no bonding.
Particularly suitable for railway carbodies in aluminium. Weight reductions of a body shell up to totally 15% are possible.
In the years 2014 - 2015 we developed this technology to series production readiness, in collaboration with ZHAW, Winterthur, 3A Composites, Altenrhein and Rapid Technic AG, Killwangen, supported by KTI Switzerland. We presented the respective results on the Rad-Schiene-Symposium 2017 at Dresden.
